One World Trade Center Officially Tallest Tower in Nation Thanks to Spire

The decision came from the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, whose 30 members ruled that the 1,776-foot building deserves the title because its 408-foot spire counts as part of its aesthetic appeal. The former tallest building, the Willis Tower in Chicago, stands 1,451 feet tall.
